The Yangtze River Three Gorges Water Control Project, referred to as the Three Gorges Project, is a large-scale water conservancy project constructed on the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River in China. It stretches along the main stream of the Yangtze River from Chongqing Municipality to Yichang City, Hubei Province. The dam is located at Sandouping, Yiling District, Yichang City within Xiling Gorge, and forms a cascade power station jointly with the Gezhouba Hydropower Station a short distance downstream. It is the world’s largest hydropower station and the largest engineering project ever built in China.
To monitor reservoir-induced earthquakes, 24 seismic observation stations have been constructed along the banks of the Three Gorges Reservoir, with all data centralized at Bahekou. Our company supplied professional seismic observation equipment and participated in the construction of the observation system.
