In accordance with the Industry-University-Research Cooperation Agreement signed in 2017 between Beijing Geolight Instrument Equipment Co., Ltd. and the Teaching & Research Section of Measurement and Control Technology, Institute of Disaster Prevention, Geolight has hosted three sessions of off-campus internships for the Institute every summer starting from 2018, namely: Freshman “Visit Internship”, Sophomore “On-site Course”, and Junior “Production Internship”. This year marks the second year of agreement implementation. As of July 19, all cooperative education off-campus internships for this year have been successfully completed.
The summer production internship targeting Grade 2016 juniors majoring in Measurement and Control Technology lasted two weeks from July 8 to July 19, 2019 at Beijing Geolight, with a total of 29 participating students. In line with the planned internship syllabus, the two-week program focused on two themes: Assembly and commissioning of seismic instruments; Site survey and selection of seismic station foundations.

A formal certificate awarding ceremony was first held in the conference room on the first floor of the company. Internship Completion Certificates were granted to students based on their internship performance. Mr. Zhuang signed each certificate on behalf of the company and attended the closing ceremony in person.

Subsequently, all participating teachers, students and company executives took a group photo in the lobby, marking the successful conclusion of the summer internship closing ceremony. After the ceremony, students held an open discussion on the company premises. Each student shared their gains, experience and prospects for future study and life. Professor Gao summarized the summer internship and encouraged students to maintain continuous learning and dare to practice hands-on in future studies.
