On the morning of March 16, 2017, the Department of Disaster Prevention Instrumentation, Institute of Disaster Prevention (hereinafter referred to as IDP), and Beijing Geodevice Instrument & Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Geodevice) held negotiations at Geodevice on cooperation for the off-campus internship base and reached the following cooperation intentions.
Participants: Institute of Disaster Prevention: Hong Li, Cai Jianxian, Yao Zhenjing, Wu Yanxiong, Gao Qiang, Mu Ruwang, etc. Geodevice: Zhuang Cantao, Zhou Yinxing, Wu Weiyuan, Wu Yong, Zhang Suling, Liu Weiwei, etc.
The meeting was presided over by Manager Zhou Yinxing. Mu Ruwang and Zhang Suling took the meeting minutes.
Mr. Zhuang and Professor Hong delivered important speeches at the meeting. Mr. Zhuang stated that he was deeply aware of the serious disconnect between classroom teaching and practical training in China. School-enterprise cooperation brings benefits to both students and society, and the company will fully support the university in advancing school-enterprise collaborative programs. Discussions and negotiations focused on the following four areas:
1. Disciplinary Research
(1) Discuss the development of the Key Laboratory for Precision Vibration Measurement Technology and Instruments and its relevant academic committee.
(2) Exchange views on a joint training mechanism for postgraduate students majoring in disaster monitoring technology and instruments at the university.
2. Construction of Instrument Calibration and Testing Laboratory
Relying on Geodevice’s leading position in the seismic instrument industry and its advanced experience in building seismic instrument laboratories, both sides reached a preliminary intention to jointly construct an instrument calibration and testing laboratory.
3. Establishment of Off-campus Internship Base
The two parties will jointly build the "Off-campus Internship Base of the Institute of Disaster Prevention". The base will support the university’s students in cognitive internships and production internships related to seismic instruments.
4. Faculty Training
Geodevice boasts extensive practical expertise in the seismic instrument sector. With support from the company, faculty members of the Department of Disaster Prevention Instrumentation will gain deeper access to the seismic instrument field, laying a solid foundation for their future teaching, talent cultivation and scientific research.
Details concerning undergraduate internships, postgraduate practical training and the construction of the key laboratory were discussed. After the meeting, the faculty visited production lines and core business departments of the company.
