On the morning of July 30, a five-member delegation led by Chen Feng, Party Secretary of the Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration, and Researcher Chen Shi, Deputy Director of the Institute, together with experts from the Department of Scientific and Technological Achievement Transformation and Services of the Institute, visited Beijing Geolight. Zhuang [Surname], Chairman of Beijing Geolight, and Zhou Yinxing, Deputy General Manager, accompanied the delegation on the tour and introduced the company’s product R&D and production lines. Researcher Xue Bing, Chief Engineer of the company, Researcher Zhu Xiaoyi from the Technical Department and Researcher Chen Yang from the Software Department participated in the exchange forum. During the talks, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the Diting Eco-Technology Alliance, the construction, operation and further cooperation of the Beijing Key Laboratory of Key Technologies and Intelligent Equipment for AI+ Application in Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction (hereinafter referred to as the Laboratory), and fully exchanged views.

At the forum, Secretary Chen Feng affirmed the product quality and technologies of Beijing Geolight, expressed gratitude for the company’s support for the Laboratory construction, and praised its contributions to domestic and international earthquake observation undertakings. He looked forward to further deepening the cooperation between the Institute and Beijing Geolight to jointly improve the efficiency of earthquake monitoring and early warning services and advance independent innovation in observation technologies. Deputy Director Chen Shi introduced Diting large model-driven earthquake scientific research, focusing on earthquake big data, AI fundamentals and dataset construction. He shared in-depth information on model parameters, phase picking and case simulations of early warning models, clarified the cutting-edge development direction and future plans of AI in earthquake disaster reduction, and proposed that greater efforts should be made to develop the two core tracks of artificial intelligence and observation technologies to meet the future demands of the earthquake industry.

Zhuang [Surname], Chairman of Beijing Geolight, extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the Institute of Geophysics. He spoke highly of the remarkable achievements of the Diting AI large model and recognized the joint efforts of both parties in applying for the Beijing Key Laboratory. Mr. Zhuang introduced the company’s R&D roadmap for intelligent upgrading of seismic instruments, the intelligent design scheme for new-generation seismometers and data acquisition units, and the technical approach for multi-sensor fusion. He elaborated on the technical idea of leveraging the AI large model to make up for deficiencies in hardware performance. He proposed that in the current stage, it is necessary to promote the in-depth integration of observation methods, measured data and AI large models, and pledged continued full support for the construction of the Key Laboratory. Zhou Yinxing briefly introduced the company’s latest development and future product planning, and reviewed the long-term friendly cooperation between the two sides in the construction of domestic and overseas seismic networks and experimental field projects under the Belt and Road Initiative. The company will continue to deepen institute-enterprise cooperation, drive the iterative upgrading of large models through hardware technological innovation, and work together to boost high-quality development of the industry.

Beijing Geolight is equipped with well-furnished R&D laboratories and vibration testing laboratories. It also owns directly affiliated CNC machining workshops and clean assembly workshops for electronic instruments. Supported by the Beijing Key Laboratory of Key Technologies and Intelligent Equipment for AI+ Application in Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction, the company focuses on next-generation information technology and is ready to provide all sectors with a series of digital seismic observation instruments and system solutions.
