The 12th Tianshan International Symposium on Seismology was successfully held in Urumqi, Xinjiang from September 14 to 18. Nearly 300 experts and scholars attended the conference, coming from research institutes directly under the China Earthquake Administration, provincial earthquake administrations, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, domestic universities, and seismological research institutions across Central Asia. Centering on 15 themes including seismic activity and structural geology, earthquake prediction and early‑warning technologies, earthquake engineering and disaster risk assessment, as well as seismic observation and data analysis, in‑depth academic exchanges and discussions were carried out. Geolight took an active part in this important academic event, conducting practical technical exchanges with counterparts from Central Asian countries to jointly boost the high‑quality development of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction in the Tianshan Mountains and Central Asia.

Geolight showcased its full‑range core seismic monitoring instruments and complete‑set solutions applicable to diverse observation environments. Highlighted releases included the upgraded GL‑PCS60/120 integrated broadband seismometer, GL‑AX4 remote zero‑adjustment accelerometer, and miniaturized broadband seismometer. The WS, CS and MS series, developed and promoted by the company in recent years, have been widely deployed in the National Earthquake Early Warning Project, the China Seismic Science Experimental Field, and the Catastrophe Prevention Project. They are also applied in strong‑motion monitoring, early‑warning and structural health‑monitoring projects for high‑rise buildings, lifeline engineering, dams and reservoirs.

During the conference, Geolight held face‑to‑face technical discussions with domestic and foreign research institutes and seismological agencies. Closely aligned with the theme of the Tianshan International Symposium on Seismology, in‑depth exchanges focused on seismic instrument R&D, observation technologies, station network construction and disaster‑related application scenarios. The company presented its self‑developed seismic monitoring equipment, together with domestic and overseas application cases, demonstrating its achievements in earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and enhancing its international influence.
Looking ahead, Geolight will further deepen scientific and technological exchanges and pragmatic cooperation with peers from Central Asia and across the globe. It will contribute to improving the comprehensive seismic monitoring and disaster‑resilience capacity of the Tianshan‑Central Asia region, support regional infrastructure construction and urban‑rural disaster prevention and mitigation, and work together to build a resilient disaster‑risk‑reduction community.
